Survey Says: “WiFi Coverage Reins Supreme!”

Looks like we aren’t the only ones in favor of not paying expensive phone bills!

We recently checked in with 70+ million of our closest pals, our users, to understand where they stand on carriers, WiFi use and communication in general.

Thanks to your participation, we walked away with insight into what mobile users under 30 are looking for, and found that WiFi-first, or only, coverage reigns supreme. Our savvy users are seriously over paying a premium to use 3G and 4G networks they don’t need.

Check out a few other interesting tidbits we learned:

  • 72% of respondents said they would prefer an unlimited Wi-Fi calling plan to 300 minutes of 3G/4G service
  • 87% of respondents said they felt they would be able to find WiFi coverage when they needed it
  • 40% of respondents stated they could only afford to spend $0-10 on a cell phone plan
  • As expected, users reported that 50-75% of their mobile communication happens via text, as opposed to phone calls

So, with that, adios, expensive phone carriers! You won’t be missed.
