Many of us here at textPlus have friends and family back East. Like you, we’ve been watching the Hurricane Sandy coverage in shock and disbelief. Sadly, we’re still seeing many people having a tough time getting in touch with loved ones. Power is still out in many areas and carrier lines are overwhelmed.
To assist, textPlus is donating 10 million free in-app minutes to help those impacted by Sandy. We want to make sure you’re able to get connected -- and stay connected -- with your loved ones. You can use textPlus over Wi-Fi even if your cell network isn’t back online.
New and existing textPlus users can download the minutes by doing the following:
- Apple users: Click “Buy or Earn Minutes” within the app. From there, click “Complete Offer” to bring up the option to download five free minutes.
- Android users: Click “Get More Minutes” within the app. From there, click “View Offers” to bring up the option to download five free minutes.
Minutes will only be used toward calls to non-textPlus users. Calls and text messages to other textPlus users in the US are always free.
