An Interview with the creator of DQFANS

There are tons of textPlus Communities (I've lost count), and we check a lot of them out. Obviously, we can't see them all...but we get close.

One that caught my eye was simply called DQFANS. DQ? Hmmmm....surely they' don't mean...DAIRY QUEEN?

Yep, it's a Community for Dairy Queen Fans.

HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

I was lucky enough to be able to virtually sit down with Kenda, the creator of one of the raddest, most popular, and most talked about Communities on textPlus - DQFANS and ask her a few questions about it.

textPlus: Tell us about yourself!
Kenda: My name is Kenda and I am a very proud Canadian. I am a young teenager. I like all sports and my favourite chocolate bars are Mars Bar, Aero and Twix!

textPlus: How did you hear about textPlus?
Kenda: I heard about textPlus from people from school and my cousin also told me about it, so I thought that I would try it out.

textPlus: Why did you start a textPlus Community about DQ?
Kenda: Well, I REALLY love dairy queen and so when I first had textplus I was searching through the featured communities and I was like "Hey I should make a community!" So I thought of some ideas and I was like Dq is great and alot of people like dq, that would make a great community. When I made the community I made it just for fun to talk to my sister, cousin and friends about DQ, and other things. Then when I invited staff to DQFANS it BLEW UP! I was so happy when I first had 16 members, but now I have 100!

textPlus: How often do you go to DQ? (what's your fav flavor)
Kenda: I go to DQ about once, or a couple times a month. I wish I could go more often, but the only way to get to DQ is a ride from my mom and well...theres the reason I don't go as much as I want to. lol. My favourite DQ blizzard is a pumpkin pie one or the banana cream pie one, but I also love the original smarties or oreo ones. I also really like the Arctic Freezes, grape (they're not on the menu).

textPlus: Have you met any fun/interesting new friends since being the DQFANS Community Owner?
Kenda: I have met some new people on DQFANS i wouldn't nessesaraly call them my "friends," but you know what I'm saying. There are some people that I have had good convos. with though. ya.

textPlus: How can textPlus help you grow DQFANS into a much larger community?
Kenda: textplus can help DQFANS grow by maybe like when you go onto textplus have that window pop up, that usually talks about new updates, maybe say "Try DQFANS community!" Or something like that or maybe textplus could put "Try DQFANS" on the app description on the app store. Having the ability to allow more people into it would make it SO GREAT though!

textPlus: Anything else you'd like to share?
Kenda: I just want to say that I am so happy that DQFANS is so popular and I thank textplus for being such an awesome app!
